Ingredients
- 1 sheet (about 10x10 inches) puff pastry
- 4 oz semisweet chocolate
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 whole glazed cherry
- 1 tbsp sliced almonds
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll out the 1 puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth creases, then cut into 4 equal rectangles.
- 2
In a small saucepan, heat 4 oz semisweet chocolate and 1/2 cup heavy cream over low, stirring until melted and smooth, about 3-4 minutes. Let cool slightly.
- 3
Spoon about 1 tbsp of the chocolate cream onto the center of each pastry rectangle. Brush the edges with beaten egg from 1 large egg.
- 4
Fold each rectangle over the filling to form a pillow, pressing edges with a fork to seal. Brush tops with remaining egg.
- 5
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake until puffed and golden brown, 15-18 minutes. Let cool on a rack for 5 minutes.
- 6
Dust with 2 tbsp powdered sugar, then top each with a glazed cherry and sprinkle with 1 tbsp sliced almonds. Serve warm.
