Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, mix 1 cup glutinous rice flour with 0.5 cup water until a soft dough forms. Knead briefly, then roll into 8 small balls.

  2. 2

Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the rice balls and fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Sprinkle 0.25 cup brown sugar over the balls and add 2 tbsp water. Stir gently until the sugar melts into a thick syrup that coats the balls, about 2 minutes.

  4. 4

Transfer the balls to a plate, drizzle with any remaining syrup, and sprinkle with 1 tbsp sesame seeds. Serve warm.
