Ingredients
- 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
- 5 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 whole eggs
- ¾ cup caramel or dulce de leche
- ¼ tsp sea salt

Whisk flour, sugar, and sea salt together in a bowl.

Add egg and melted butter, stir until a smooth, thick batter forms.

Heat waffle iron (or 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high). Lightly butter the surface.

Pour 2–3 tbsp batter into waffle iron (or skillet), close lid and cook until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.

Warm caramel in a small saucepan over low heat or microwave 30 seconds until pourable.

Spread 1 tbsp warm caramel on top of one waffle, sandwich with a second waffle. Serve immediately while caramel is still melting.
