Ingredients

  • 1 pound strawberries
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Butter a 9-inch pie dish or cast-iron skillet with 1 tablespoon of the butter.

  2. 2

Hull and halve the 1 pound strawberries, then arrange them cut-side down in the prepared dish.

  3. 3

In a blender, combine the 3 eggs, 0.5 cup sugar, 0.5 cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and the remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.

  4. 4

Pour the batter over the strawberries. Bake until the clafoutis is puffed and golden, and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.

  5. 5

Let cool for 10 minutes, then dust with the 1 tablespoon powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
