Ingredients
- 12 whole scallops
- 2 tablespoons black sesame paste
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 stalks green onions
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- 1
Rinse the 12 scallops and pat dry. Arrange them in a single layer on a heatproof plate that fits in your steamer.
- 2
In a small bowl, whisk together the 2 tbsp black sesame paste and 2 tbsp soy sauce until smooth. If too thick, add 1 tbsp water.
- 3
Mince the 3 garlic cloves and slice the 2 green onions thinly, separating white and green parts.
- 4
Spoon the sesame-soy mixture evenly over the scallops. Sprinkle with the minced garlic and the white parts of the green onions.
- 5
Set up a steamer with water and bring to a boil. Place the plate in the steamer, cover, and steam over high heat until scallops are just opaque and firm, about 6-8 minutes.
- 6
Carefully remove the plate. Heat the 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a small pan until shimmering, then pour it over the scallops to sizzle the garlic and onions.
- 7
Garnish with the remaining green onion greens and serve hot.
