Ingredients
- 2 filets steak
- 8 oz mushrooms
- 1 bunch asparagus
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 to taste salt and pepper
Instructions
- 1
Season the 2 steaks with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over high heat until sizzling, then sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, until browned and firm to the touch.
- 2
Remove the steaks and set aside. In the same skillet, add the 8 oz sliced mushrooms and cook over medium-high until golden and softened, about 5 minutes.
- 3
Pour in the 1/2 cup heavy cream and stir, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.
- 4
In a separate pan, heat the remaining 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add the 1 bunch asparagus and cook, turning occasionally, until bright green and tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
- 5
Serve the steaks topped with the mushroom sauce and the asparagus on the side.
