Ingredients

  • 1 sheet (about 10 × 14 inches) frozen puff pastry sheet
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1 packet (3.5 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp pearl sugar (or coarse sugar)
  • 1 whole egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat oven to 400°F. Whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes until thick, then let sit while you prep the pastry.

  2. 2

  3. 3

Spread custard evenly over pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border on all sides.

  4. 4

Roll the pastry tightly from the long side into a log. Coil it into a spiral and place on a baking sheet.

  5. 5

Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle pearl sugar on top, then bake for 12 minutes until golden and crispy.

  6. 6

Cool for 2 minutes on the pan. Serve warm or at room temperature.
