Ingredients

  • 1 pound clams
  • 4 stalks green onions
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

    Scrub clams and soak in salted water for 30 minutes to purge sand.

    Slice onion and green onions; mince garlic.

    Heat oil in a pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.

    Add gochugaru, gochujang, and soy sauce; stir for 1 minute.

    Pour in water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.

    Add clams and cook until they open, about 5-7 minutes.
