- 1 can (15 oz) canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella
- ¼ cup fresh basil

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 8 oz spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

While pasta cooks, heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium. Add the 2 minced garlic cloves and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Pour in the 1 can crushed tomatoes and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
