- 1 whole eggs
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 pinch flake salt and black pepper

Bring a shallow pot of water to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Toast the bread until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per side.

Add vinegar to the simmering water. Crack the egg into a small cup, then slide it into the water and poach until whites set but yolk jiggles, about 3–4 minutes.
