Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 medium lemon
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • ½ cup plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. 1

Grate the 1 medium onion and squeeze out excess liquid. Mince the 2 garlic cloves. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, grated onion, garlic, 1 tsp garam masala, and 1 tsp salt until well combined.

  2. 2

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Mold each portion around a skewer into a long, sausage-like shape, about 6 inches long and 1 inch thick.

  3. 3

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates. Place the skewers on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. The meat should feel firm and reach 160°F.

  4. 4

While the kebabs cook, slice the 1 medium cucumber and cut the 1 medium lemon into wedges. In a small bowl, mix the 0.5 cup plain yogurt with a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lemon juice.

  5. 5

Serve the hot kebabs with the cucumber slices, lemon wedges, and yogurt chutney on the side. Garnish with fresh cilantro if you have it.

  6. 6

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cumin or paprika to the meat mixture before shaping.
