Ingredients
- 1 pound sea scallops
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
Instructions
- 1
Pat the 1 pound scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- 2
Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.
- 3
Add the scallops in a single layer, making sure not to crowd the pan. Sear without moving until deeply golden, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
- 4
Reduce heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons butter, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons honey to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon, about 2 minutes.
- 5
Return the scallops to the skillet and spoon the glaze over them for 1 minute to coat.
- 6
Serve the scallops immediately, drizzled with any remaining glaze and sprinkled with 1 tablespoon sesame seeds and 2 tablespoons chopped parsley.
- 7
Enjoy your restaurant-quality scallops at home!
