Seared Filet Mignon with Caviar and Mushrooms

Ingredients
- 2 steaks (6 oz each) filet mignon steaks
- 8 oz, sliced cremini mushrooms
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp caviar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 to taste salt and pepper

Pat the 2 filet mignon steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

Heat 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over high heat. Add the steaks and sear until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove and rest on a plate.

Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining 1 tbsp butter and 8 oz sliced mushrooms. Cook until golden and tender, about 5 minutes.

Pour in 1/2 cup heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Spoon the mushroom cream sauce over the steaks. Top each with 1 tbsp caviar and garnish with microgreens if desired.
