  • 6 oz smoked salmon, sliced
  • 5 oz gravlax or cured herring
  • 8 oz Swedish meatballs (frozen, thawed) or smoked ham slices
  • 8 slices rye or dark bread, sliced
  • 1 jar (12 oz) pickled cucumbers and onions (jarred)
  • ½ cup crème fraîche or sour cream
  • 1 bunch + 1 lemon fresh dill and lemon wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1

Arrange bread slices in a grid across a large wooden board or platter, overlapping slightly.

  2. 2

Drape smoked salmon and gravlax over one section, folding loosely for height and visual drama.

  3. 3

Stack ham slices or meatballs in a neat pile; position crème fraîche in a small bowl alongside.

  4. 4

Fill empty spaces with pickled cucumbers and onions, then scatter fresh dill across the top.

Tuck lemon wedges between items. Serve immediately with small plates and forks.
