Ingredients

  • 6 oz cured salmon (gravlax or smoked), sliced
  • 12 pieces Swedish meatballs (frozen or pre-cooked), warmed
  • 5 oz sharp aged cheddar or Jarlsberg cheese, cubed
  • ½ cup pickled herring or pickled cucumbers
  • 8 slices crisp rye or pumpernickel bread, sliced
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (optional garnish)

Instructions

    Warm meatballs in a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes, stirring gently until heated through.

    Spread butter lightly on each slice of bread. Arrange bread around the edge of a large board or platter.

    Drape salmon slices in loose folds in one section. Add cheese cubes, pickled herring, and warm meatballs in separate clusters.

    Scatter dill over the salmon if using. Serve at room temperature with small forks or toothpicks.
