Ingredients
- 1 lb sauerkraut
- 1 lb smoked sausages
- 1.5 lb potatoes
- 1 medium onion
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper

Drain the 1 lb sauerkraut and rinse briefly under cold water; squeeze out excess liquid. Set aside.

Slice the 1 lb sausages into 1/2-inch rounds. Peel and dice the 1 medium onion. Scrub the 1.5 lb potatoes and cut into 1-inch chunks.

Melt the 2 tbsp butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
