Ingredients
- 1.5 lb pork belly slices
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ cup ssamjang (Korean dipping sauce)
- 1 head green leaf lettuce
- 4 cloves garlic cloves
- 4 stalks green onions
Instructions
- 1
Pat the 1.5 lb pork belly slices dry with paper towels. Season both sides with the 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.
- 2
Heat the 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork belly in a single layer, working in batches if needed, and cook until the bottom is golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
- 3
Flip the pork and cook the other side until browned and cooked through, another 4-5 minutes. The meat should be crispy on the edges and tender inside.
- 4
While the pork cooks, slice the 4 garlic cloves thinly and cut the 4 green onions into 2-inch pieces.
- 5
Transfer the cooked pork to a cutting board and cut into bite-sized pieces. Serve hot with the lettuce leaves, garlic, green onions, and 0.5 cup ssamjang for wrapping.
- 6
To eat, place a piece of pork on a lettuce leaf, add a dab of ssamjang, a slice of garlic, and a piece of green onion. Wrap and enjoy.
