Ingredients
- ¾ lb beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 medium shallot, sliced
- 4 clove garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp kluwek (black nut) paste or jarred kluwek purée
- 4 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp palm sugar or brown sugar

Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high. Add shallots and garlic, cook until fragrant, about 90 seconds.
