Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ lb smoked sausage, diced
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes (canned)
  • ½ cup dill pickle, diced
  • 3 tbsp pickle juice
  • 8 slices sliced bread (for serving)

Instructions

    Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon until no pink remains, ~5 minutes.

    Add diced sausage to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until sausage edges brown slightly, ~3 minutes.

    Pour in beef broth, tomatoes with juice, diced pickle, and pickle juice. Stir to combine.

    Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook uncovered for 10 minutes to meld flavors.
