Ingredients
- 12 leaves bamboo leaves, dried
- 2 cups glutinous rice (sticky rice)
- ½ lb ground pork
- 4 tbsp soy sauce, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 stalks scallions, chopped
- 4 cups water

Soak bamboo leaves in hot water for 5 minutes until soft and pliable.

Rinse glutinous rice in a sieve under cold water until water runs clear, then drain well.

Brown ground pork in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon, 4-5 minutes.

Add minced garlic, stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Stir in 2 tbsp soy sauce and sesame oil, then fold in drained rice and scallions off heat.

Lay one bamboo leaf shiny-side down, place 2 tbsp filling near the center, fold into a triangle.

Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a pot, drop in zongzi, and simmer 12-15 minutes until they float.
