Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 16 count round dumpling wrappers (gyoza or potsticker skins)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 count scallion, chopped
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp chili oil or sriracha (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Brown ground pork in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until no pink remains, about 4 minutes.

  2. 2

Stir in soy sauce, ginger, scallion, and sesame oil. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, then transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

Lay 16 dumpling wrappers on a cutting board. Place 1 tbsp filling on each, fold in half, then pinch the center to form a little pouch.

  4. 4

Add water to the same skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, then carefully arrange buns seam-side up on a steamer insert or paper.

  5. 5

Set the steamer basket over the simmering water. Cover and steam for 8 minutes until buns are puffy and skin looks shiny.

  6. 6

Transfer to a plate. Serve hot with chili oil or sriracha on the side.
