Ingredients

  • 1 ball store-bought pizza dough (1 lb / 450g)
  • ¼ cup whole milk, warm
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 whole egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Mix warm milk with granulated sugar and melted butter in a small bowl until sugar dissolves.

  3. 3

Divide pizza dough into 4 equal pieces. Shape each into a ball, then use your fingers to poke a shallow well in the center of each.

  4. 4

Brush each bun with the milk-sugar mixture. Beat egg yolk with 1 tbsp water and brush over tops for shine.

  5. 5

Bake on the sheet pan for 12-14 minutes until golden brown and a knife inserted into the thickest part meets no resistance.

  6. 6

Cool for 2 minutes on the pan, then dust generously with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
