Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry sheet
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- ½ cup black olives
- 1 medium tomato
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Roll out the 1 puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into two 9x6 inch rectangles.
- 2
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the 1 lb ground beef and 1 diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- 3
Stir the 1 cup shredded cheese, 0.5 cup chopped black olives, and 1 diced tomato into the beef mixture. Cook for 2 minutes until the cheese starts to melt.
- 4
Spoon the filling onto one half of each pastry rectangle, leaving a 1 inch border. Fold the other half over and press the edges with a fork to seal.
- 5
Beat the 1 egg and brush it over the tops of the pastries. Cut a few small slits in the top for steam to escape.
- 6
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
