Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • ½ medium onion, finely minced
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup lingonberry jam or red currant jelly
  • ½ cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix ground pork, minced onion, flour, egg, milk, 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.25 tsp pepper in a bowl until just combined.

  2. 2

Wet your hands and form mixture into 12–16 meatballs, each about 1.5 inches across.

  3. 3

Heat 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high until foaming, ~90 seconds.

  4. 4

Add meatballs in a single layer and cook 4–5 minutes without moving, until golden brown on the bottom.

  5. 5

Shake the pan and roll meatballs over. Cook another 3–4 minutes until cooked through.

  6. 6

Stir lingonberry jam, broth, and vinegar into the pan. Simmer 2 minutes until sauce coats the meatballs.
