Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella
- 12 leaves fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Divide the 1 lb pizza dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each into a ball.
- 2
On a lightly floured surface, flatten each ball into a 4-inch round, about 1/4 inch thick. Place the rounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Brush the tops of the dough rounds with 1 tbsp of the olive oil. Spread 2 tbsp of tomato sauce over each round, leaving a small border.
- 4
Tear the 8 oz fresh mozzarella into small pieces and distribute evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp of the salt.
- 5
Bake the mini pizzas for 10-12 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- 6
Remove from the oven and immediately top with the fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 tsp salt. Serve hot.
