Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 2 ounces hot water
  • 8 ounces milk (dairy or oat)
  • ½ tablespoon honey or agave syrup
  • 4 pieces ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

    Pour matcha powder into a mug. Add hot water (not boiling, around 160–170°F if you have a thermometer).

    Whisk vigorously for 30–45 seconds until the powder dissolves and the mixture turns bright green with foam.

    Heat milk in a small saucepan or microwave for 60–90 seconds until steaming (do not boil).

    Pour hot milk into the matcha mixture. Stir in honey until dissolved.

    For iced: add ice cubes and stir. For hot: serve immediately.
