Ingredients

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices bread slices

Instructions

  1. 1

Boil elbow macaroni in salted water until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

Return pasta to the hot pot off heat. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.

  3. 3

Butter two bread slices on both sides. Spoon mac and cheese onto one slice, top with the other slice, cheese side down.

  4. 4

Heat a skillet over medium-high. Place sandwich in the pan and cook 3–4 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy.

  5. 5

Flip carefully and cook the other side until golden, another 2–3 minutes. Cheese should ooze slightly at the edges.

  6. 6

Repeat steps 3–5 with the remaining 2 bread slices and mac and cheese. Serve hot.
