Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow lentils (toor dal)
- 3 cups water
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 2 pieces flatbread (paratha)
- ½ cup plain yogurt

Rinse lentils and soak in water for 30 minutes.

In a pot, combine lentils, 3 cups water, turmeric, and salt; bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer until lentils are soft, about 25 minutes.

In a small pan, heat oil; add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.

Add garlic and green chili; sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
