Ingredients
- 1 box coffee cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting
- ½ cup walnuts
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease two 9 inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, combine the 1 box coffee cake mix, 3 eggs, 0.5 cup oil, and 1 cup water. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.

Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cakes are cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the 1 cup cream cheese frosting over the top. Place the second layer on top and spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides.
- 4
Chop the 0.5 cup walnuts into small pieces. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top of the frosted cake, pressing gently so they stick. Slice and serve.
