Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 inch piece ginger
- 1 large tomato
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 whole buns
Instructions
- 1
Finely chop the 1 medium onion, 3 garlic cloves, and 1 inch ginger. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until soft and golden, about 6 minutes.
- 2
Add the 1 lb ground beef and 1 tsp salt. Break up the meat with a spoon and cook until browned, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 3
Chop the 1 large tomato and add it to the skillet along with 2 tsp garam masala. Stir well and cook until the tomato breaks down and the mixture is thick, about 5 minutes.
- 4
Add 1/2 cup water and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it cook uncovered until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld, about 10 minutes. The keema should be moist but not soupy.
- 5
Warm the 4 buns in a toaster or oven for 2 minutes. Serve the keema hot with the buns on the side for dipping and soaking up the sauce.
