Ingredients

  • ¾ lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • ¾ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 can (14 oz) canned diced tomatoes (or fresh)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 pieces pita bread
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (or Aleppo pepper)

Instructions

    Mix yogurt with minced garlic and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

    Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high until it foams.

    Add beef in a single layer, season with salt and pepper, sear 60 seconds without stirring.

    Toss beef until no pink remains and edges are slightly crisp, ~2 minutes total.

    Pour in tomatoes with their juice, add 2 tbsp butter and red pepper flakes, simmer 4 minutes.

    Warm pita, tear into pieces, layer on a plate with beef, sauce, and garlic yogurt. Serve hot.
