Ingredients
- 4 hot dog buns
- 4 hot dogs
- 1 large onion
- 4 slices dill pickles
- ½ cup bacon bits
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- 1
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add 1 sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown, about 10 minutes.
- 2
While the onion cooks, grill or pan-fry the 4 hot dogs over medium heat until heated through and lightly charred, about 5 minutes.
- 3
Toast the 4 hot dog buns in the same skillet or on the grill until lightly golden, about 1 minute per side.
- 4
Place each hot dog in a bun. Top with the caramelized onions, 1 slice of dill pickle per hot dog, and 2 tbsp of cheddar cheese per hot dog.
- 5
In a small nonstick skillet, fry the 4 eggs sunny-side up over medium heat until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny, about 3 minutes.
- 6
Place one fried egg on top of each hot dog. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp of bacon bits per hot dog and serve immediately.
- 7
