Homemade Stroopwafel with Caramel

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces stroopwafel cookies (store-bought)
  • 4 tbsp dulce de leche or caramel sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup hot coffee

Instructions

    Heat butter in a small pan over low heat until melted, ~1 minute.

    Stir in caramel sauce until smooth and pourable, ~30 seconds.

    Split each stroopwafel in half horizontally to expose the waffle interior.

    Spread 1 tbsp warm caramel between the halves of each cookie.

    Place stroopwafels on a plate and pour hot coffee into a mug alongside.

    Hold each stroopwafel over the steam from the coffee for 10–15 seconds to soften, then dip and eat.
