Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb sirloin steak
  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 lb frozen french fries
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your grill to high heat. Pat the 1.5 lb sirloin steak dry with paper towels and season generously on both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

Grill the steak over direct high heat, turning once, until it reaches your desired doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare). Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

While the steak rests, heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the 8 oz sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender, about 6-8 minutes.

  4. 4

Add the 2 tbsp butter and 2 minced garlic cloves to the mushrooms. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant, then remove from heat and stir in 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley if you have it.

  5. 5

Meanwhile, cook the 1 lb frozen french fries according to package directions (usually 15-20 minutes at 425°F).

  6. 6

Steam the 2 cups broccoli florets and 2 sliced carrots in a steamer basket over boiling water until crisp-tender, about 5-6 minutes. Toss with a pinch of salt.

  7. 7

Slice the rested steak against the grain. Serve with the fries, steamed vegetables, and top the steak with the buttery mushrooms.
