Ingredients

  • 8 oz provolone cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Cut the 8 oz provolone into 4 thick slices, about 1 inch each. Brush both sides with the 1 tbsp olive oil.

  2. 2

Preheat a charcoal grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Grill the cheese slices for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown grill marks appear and the edges start to melt.

  4. 4

Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with the 1 tsp oregano, 2 tbsp chopped parsley, and 0.5 tsp black pepper. Serve immediately with crusty bread or wooden skewers for picking up.

  5. 5

Optional: add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a squeeze of lemon before serving if you like.
