Ingredients

  • 1 lb kielbasa (smoked Polish sausage)
  • 6 slices sliced bread (crusty or rye)
  • 3 tbsp yellow mustard (or spicy brown)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice kielbasa diagonally into 1/4-inch-thick pieces to maximize browning surface.

  2. 2

Heat oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers, about 60 seconds.

  3. 3

Add kielbasa slices and cook without stirring for 2 minutes until bottoms turn golden brown.

  4. 4

Stir, then cook another 2 minutes until edges char and sausage is heated through.

  5. 5

Season with salt and pepper. Toast bread slices in a separate dry skillet or toaster until edges crisp.

  6. 6

Plate kielbasa, serve bread alongside with mustard for dipping.
