Ingredients
- 1.5 lb kielbasa or smoked sausage
- 1 large, sliced yellow onion
- 3 tbsp whole-grain mustard
- ¼ cup beef broth or water
- ½ tsp caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Score the kielbasa skin in a crosshatch pattern, then slice into 1-inch-thick rounds.
- 2
Heat a large skillet over medium-high until it shimmers. Add kielbasa rounds and sear 2 minutes per side until edges char.
- 3
Push kielbasa to the side, add sliced onion, and cook stirring occasionally until golden and soft, about 5 minutes.
- 4
Pour in broth and scrape up any browned bits on the pan bottom. Simmer 2 minutes until liquid reduces by half.
- 5
Stir in mustard and caraway seeds (if using). Toss everything to coat and heat through, about 30 seconds.
