Ingredients
- 8 slice bread slices
- 8 ounce deli ham
- 8 ounce cheddar cheese
- 4 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- 1
Butter one side of each of the 8 bread slices with the 4 tbsp butter, using about 1/2 tbsp per slice.
- 2
Place 4 bread slices buttered-side down on a cutting board. Top each with 2 oz ham and 2 oz cheddar cheese.
- 3
Cover with the remaining 4 bread slices, buttered-side up, to make 4 sandwiches.
- 4
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan, working in batches if needed to avoid crowding.
- 5
Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- 6
Remove from the pan, let rest for 1 minute, then slice in half and serve hot.
