Ingredients
- 4 links (about 1.5 lbs) boerewors sausage
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ medium, minced onion
- 2 tbsp, chopped fresh coriander (cilantro) or flat-leaf parsley
- ¼ tsp chili flakes or cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- 1
Mix ground beef, minced onion, herbs, chili flakes, worcestershire, salt, and pepper in a bowl until just combined. Form into 4 patties about 0.75-inch thick.
- 2
Heat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high until a drop of water sizzles and evaporates instantly.
- 3
Lay boerewors coils in the pan without moving them. Cook for 7-8 minutes, rolling gently once halfway through, until browned and cooked through.
- 4
Push sausages to the cooler edge of the pan. Add beef patties to the hot center and cook without moving for 4 minutes.
- 5
Flip patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes until centers reach 160°F (about medium). Edges should be charred and crispy.
- 6
Serve boerewors coils and beef patties hot, directly from the pan.
