Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 whole lemon (juiced)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 pieces pita bread
  • 1 whole tomato, sliced
  • ¼ whole red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

    Mix yogurt, lemon juice, half the garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

    Pat chicken dry. Pound to even 0.75-inch thickness between plastic wrap.

    Toss chicken with remaining garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp olive oil.

    Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high until shimmering.

    Cook chicken 6–7 minutes per side until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F.

    Slice chicken into thin strips.

    Warm pita in the skillet 30 seconds per side until soft and pliable.

    Spread yogurt sauce on each pita. Layer with chicken, tomato, and red onion.
