Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups sharp cheddar, shredded
- 7 tbsp cold butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
- 2.5 tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup buttermilk
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ tsp salt and black pepper

Preheat oven to 425°F. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Cut 5 tbsp cold butter into small cubes and work into flour with your fingertips until mixture looks like coarse sand.

Fold in cheddar and parsley, then add buttermilk and stir until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overmix.

Drop 6 golf-ball-sized portions onto a sheet pan spaced 2 inches apart. Bake 12–14 minutes until golden brown on top.
