Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed, divided
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

    Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

    Whisk flour, baking powder, and a big pinch of salt in a bowl.

    Cut 4 tbsp cold butter into the flour with your fingertips until it looks like coarse breadcrumbs, then stir in cheddar.

    Pour buttermilk into the bowl and mix gently with a fork until a soft dough just comes together.
