Ingredients
- 4 whole black burger buns
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices cheddar cheese slices
- 1 medium tomato
- 4 whole lettuce leaves
- 1 lb frozen french fries
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425°F. Spread the 1 lb frozen fries on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, about 20 minutes, shaking halfway.
- 2
While fries bake, divide the 1 lb ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than the buns. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- 3
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the 4 patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through (no pink inside). During the last minute, place 1 slice of cheddar on each patty to melt.
- 4
Toast the 4 black buns cut-side down in the skillet for 1 minute until lightly golden. Build burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, patty with cheese, a slice of tomato, then top bun.
- 5
Serve the burgers hot with the crispy fries on the side. Add ketchup or mayo if you like.
