Ingredients

  • 6 medium peaches
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup butter

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Slice the 6 peaches and toss with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl.

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1.5 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

  3. 3

Stir in 3/4 cup milk until just combined; the batter should be lumpy, not smooth.

  4. 4

Melt 1/2 cup butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish in the oven. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.

  5. 5

Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

  6. 6

Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly at the edges.

  7. 7

Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
