Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 cups vegetable oil
- ½ cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the 2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 cup sugar. Make a well in the center.
- 2
Pour the 3/4 cup milk into the well and stir with a spoon until a soft dough forms, about 1 minute. Do not overmix.
- 3
On a floured surface, pat the dough to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 6 rounds using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
- 4
Heat the 2 cups vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high until a pinch of dough sizzles, about 5 minutes. Fry the doughnuts in batches, turning once, until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
