Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 sesame seed buns
  • 2 leaves lettuce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the 8 bacon slices in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.

  2. 2

Divide the 1.5 lb ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into thin patties, about 4 inches wide. Season both sides with the 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.

  3. 3

Heat the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 160°F.

  4. 4

During the last minute of cooking, place 1 slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese, about 1 minute.

  5. 5

Toast the 2 sesame seed buns in the skillet or toaster until golden, about 1-2 minutes.

  6. 6

Assemble the burgers: place a cheesy patty on each bottom bun, top with 2 slices of bacon, then the second patty, and finish with a lettuce leaf and the top bun. Serve hot.

  7. 7

Let the burgers rest for 2 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
