Ingredients

  • 200 g shredded phyllo (künefe dough)
  • 150 g white cheese (mozzarella or halloumi), shredded
  • 100 g butter, melted
  • 150 ml honey
  • 100 g clotted cream
  • 50 g crushed pistachios

Instructions

    Toss shredded phyllo with melted butter until every strand is coated.

    Heat a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Press half the phyllo mixture into an even layer.

    Scatter shredded cheese evenly over the phyllo, then top with the remaining phyllo mixture.

    Cook without stirring until the bottom is golden and crispy, ~4 minutes. Slide onto a plate, flip, and cook the other side until golden, ~3 minutes.

    While künefe cooks, warm honey in a small saucepan over low heat until it steams slightly.

    Pour warm honey over the hot künefe immediately after flipping. Top with clotted cream and crushed pistachios. Serve at once.
