Ingredients

  • 8 wrappers wonton wrappers
  • 1 medium apple, cored and finely diced
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups neutral oil for frying
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Toss diced apple with 0.25 tsp cinnamon and 1 tbsp sugar until coated.

  2. 2

Place 1 tbsp apple mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet edges with water, fold into a triangle, then bring corners together. Press to seal.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a medium skillet to 350°F (or until a wooden spoon handle sizzles immediately when dipped).

  4. 4

Fry pies in batches, 90 seconds per side, until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to paper towels.

  5. 5

Mix remaining 2 tbsp sugar with 0.25 tsp cinnamon. Toss warm pies to coat while still hot.

  6. 6

Serve immediately while the filling is still warm and the wrapper is crispy.
