Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough (1 can, 8 oz)
  • 1 cup canned diced apples (drained)
  • ¼ cup cinnamon sugar (2 tbsp cinnamon mixed with 1/4 cup sugar)
  • 2 cups neutral cooking oil (for frying)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar glaze (1/2 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp milk, 0.5 tsp vanilla, pinch cinnamon)

Instructions

  1. 1

Unroll crescent dough and pinch seams closed to form 4 rectangles. Divide apples and cinnamon sugar evenly among them.

  2. 2

Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise, then seal edges by pressing with a fork. Set pies aside on a plate.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high until a piece of dough sizzles immediately when dropped in, ~3 minutes.

  4. 4

Slide 2 pies into oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, ~1 minute per side. Transfer to paper towels; repeat with remaining pies.

  5. 5

Whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle over warm pies.

  6. 6

Let cool 1 minute before serving. They'll firm up as they cool.
