Ingredients

  • ¾ lb green or red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 3 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 medium carrot, grated or julienned
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

    Place shredded cabbage in a large bowl and sprinkle with salt.

    Massage the cabbage with your hands for 1–2 minutes until it begins to release liquid and soften slightly.

    Add vinegar, sugar, grated carrot, and black pepper to the bowl.

    Toss everything together until the vegetables are evenly coated and the dressing pools at the bottom.
